We’ve seen a lot of leaks recently regarding Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S21 family, and today is the time to see the first one that shows things officially done. Three short video trailers have been posted, supposedly from Samsung’s marketing department.

These confirm the designs of the Galaxy S21, S21 + and S21 Ultra, as well as the fact that the S21 and S21 + will settle for three rear cameras (no periscope zoom) and flat screens, while the S21 Ultra has one screen. curve and four snappers, including a periscope. Another difference is that the S21 and S21 + will have plastic backs, while the Ultra has glass.

The unique design of the chamber islands is on full display here front and center. We’re intrigued by Samsung’s decision to translate this into the frame the way it did, we’ll have to wait and see how the public reacts. As for the cameras themselves, expect the S21 and S21 + to be 12 MP wide, 12 MP ultrawide, and 64 MP telephoto, while the S21 Ultra will be 108 MP wide, 12 MP ultrawide. MP, a 10 MP 3x telephoto lens and a 10 MP 10x periscope zoom. The Ultra also has laser autofocus.

The S21 and S21 + are shown here in the Phantom Violet colourway, which, as you can see, is a two-tone paint job, with the frame and camera island in gold / bronze. It’s not something we’ve seen before, that’s for sure. Meanwhile, as the S21 Ultra was rumored to only be released in gray and black like its predecessor, we can gawk at the yawn-worthy black version.

The Galaxy S21 phones are expected to be made official at a special Galaxy Unpacked online event on January 14, not yet announced, and to be available in stores on January 29. Meanwhile, Samsung has scheduled a CES event for January 11, but it looks like that’s unrelated, and will most likely be used to introduce its latest and greatest televisions.
