Earlier this year, a 10-year-old game based on a comic that was released alongside a movie of the same name (also based on that comic) suddenly found itself back in the spotlight once again. That game was Scott Pilgrim vs. the world: the game, a side-scrolling beat-em-up developed by Ubisoft Montreal that originally released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2010.
Both versions of the game were removed from the Xbox and PlayStation stores in late 2014, but with the 10th anniversary of this game’s arrival this year, fans began to pressure Ubisoft to re-release the game for a new generation of players could experience it. Ubisoft granted those wishes, something, at least, by announcing Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Game – Full Edition.
That reveal came without the announcement of a release date, but today, we finally learned when. Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Game – Full Edition will be coming. The game will be released on January 14, 2021 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, Stadia, and PC.
As the “Complete Edition” moniker suggests, the game will feature all of the originally released DLC, which includes Wallace Wells and Knives Chau as playable characters. Other than that, we probably shouldn’t expect any major changes to the game as it existed in 2010, but I think I remember it was a perfectly good beat-em-up, so perhaps a Full Edition re-release doesn’t need much new content.
Ubisoft hasn’t revealed how much the full edition will cost, but we hope it’s not too much. We will let you know if the price is revealed before launch, but if not, look for the full edition that will be released on January 14.
