Rwanda’s U17 soccer team has been placed in Group B at the next Cecafa tournament scheduled for December 13-28 in Kigali.
Djibouti and Tanzania make up the rest of Group B, while Group A comprises Uganda, Ethiopia, Kenya and South Sudan.
Rwanda will host the U-17 Cecafa Cup at the Umuganda Stadium in the Rubavu district; and Estadio Huye, in the district of Huye.
The Junior Wasps entered residential camp at Hilltop Hotel on Dec. 2 with a provisional squad of 39 that is expected to shrink this week.
“Now we are mainly focused on fitness and tactics. The players have been doing a lot of work in the gym because most of them have been out of action for months. We need to perform well in this tournament as the host country”, Yves Rwasamanzi, “said the coach of the U-17 team.
The Cecafa U-17 tournament serves as a qualifier for the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, a masterpiece that also decides which African teams will represent the continent at the U-17 World Cup.
