Not only did Maria Bartiromo give the outgoing president a platform to lie once again to Fox viewers, the host also framed his false claims of voter fraud as established truth by telling Trump that “the facts are on his side.”
“Mr. President, you have said many times that this election was rigged, that there was a lot of fraud and that the facts are on your side,” Bartiromo said at the beginning of the interview on Sunday morning.
After telling the president that she was on his side, Bartiromo let Trump ramble uninterrupted for six minutes straight. Trump told the sycophantic presenter that voter fraud was widespread and offered no evidence. The president brushed aside the fact that his electoral demands and challenges have been nothing and insisted that after being congratulated on election night by “the greatest people” he was robbed. And Trump knows this to be true for something he called “massive landfills.”

Trump had a head start early on election night because he told his supporters not to use mail-in ballots, which took longer to count. Once the mail-in ballots were counted, Trump clearly lost. Fox is promoting the 45-minute propaganda party as the president’s first interview since the election. But only the most staunch Trump fans would consider the news interview. At one point, the president flattered Bartiromo and called his coverage “brave.”
However, before thanking the president for calling his show, Bartiromo ended the interview with something that could be an objective fact, saying, “Everything is quite extraordinary.”
