CAIRO – November 29, 2020: President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi returned to Egypt on Saturday after a one-day visit to South Sudan, where he met with President Salva Kirr and solidified joint relations.

Below are 10 messages sent by Sisi from Juba:

1 – Improvement of the integrated strategic partnership between the two countries in various fields

2 – Strengthening and development of joint relationships at various levels

3 – Raise trade rates between the two countries and encourage Egyptian investments in South Sudan

4 – Improve existing cooperation between the two countries in the field of water resources and irrigation and maximize the use of the resources of the Nile River.

5 – The Nile River should be a source of cooperation and development as a lifeline for all the peoples of the nations of the Nile basin.

6 – Egypt fully supports the efforts of President Salva Kiir and all South Sudanese parties to achieve peace in the country.

7 – Egypt supports the efforts of the Government of National Unity to draft a new constitution that meets the aspirations for peace, stability and development of the people of South Sudan.

8 – Calling on the international community to deliver on its promises and commitments to South Sudan in its march towards a better future

9 – Egypt supports efforts to remove international sanctions on South Sudan in a way that contributes to the ongoing political transition process.

10 – Intensify cooperation by transferring the Egyptian experience, providing technical support and developing the capacities of national cadres in South Sudan.
