The Surface Pro 8, or at least the supposed next device in Microsoft’s hybrid lineup, has appeared online again in a leaked image, this time alongside a photo of the supposed next Surface Laptop.
Windows Central detected the images that were shared on Twitter by @cozyplanes, a Korean leaker with whom we are not familiar, so take it with the usual caution around these types of rumors.

So this is what the Surface Pro 8 and Surface Laptop 4 could be, both products that have just been certified in Korea, and that certification is what these images refer to.
As you can see, if these are really the new incoming models, the layout will stay pretty much the same in both cases. And that’s pretty disappointing – people certainly clamored for a change with the Surface Pro 7 last year, so if another iteration comes along with nothing to do on that front, such complaints are likely to get much louder (particularly after the introduction of the much sleeker Surface Pro X look, which certainly underlined the SP7’s dated look).
Launch imminent?
Theoretically, these Surface devices will launch in early 2021, possibly mid-January, as Windows Central speculates. And as mentioned at the beginning, we’ve already seen spilled photos of the supposed upcoming Surface Pro, as well as some benchmarks that indicate solid performance levels.
The beating heart of the Pro 8 (or whatever it ends up being called) will apparently be an 11th generation Tiger Lake CPU, apparently the Intel Core i7-1165G7, and users will be offered the opportunity to increase the system RAM to 32GB ( instead of the 16GB maximum with Surface Pro 7 models). All of that is speculation, of course.
The incoming Surface Laptop specification remains a mystery, but Windows Central acknowledges that Intel and AMD CPU options will be offered again, as with the current incarnation of the laptop.
