Kathmandu [Nepal]Nov 26 (ANI): Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla, who arrived in Kathmandu for his inaugural visit on Thursday, said that India and Nepal have “very strong” ties and that his effort would be to advance the relationship between the two. two nations.
Shringla arrived in Nepal on Thursday for the two-day visit. Upon arrival, he was greeted by his Nepalese counterpart, Bharat Paudyal.
“I also wanted to come here before, but due to COVID-19 I could not do it. I am very happy to be here. We have a very strong relationship. Our effort will be to see how we can move the relationship forward,” he said. he said after arriving in the capital of Kathmandu.
During the visit, the Indian Foreign Secretary will meet with his counterpart and other Nepalese dignitaries to discuss the extensive bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
“I want to thank the government of Nepal and the foreign secretary for the warm hospitality. We have very good meetings ahead of us. We look forward to that,” he said. Shringla made similar comments in Nepali.
According to the Indian embassy here, Shringla’s visit is in keeping with the tradition of regular high-level exchanges between the two countries and the priority that India attaches to its relations with Nepal.
India has historical and civilizational ties with Nepal. In recent years, bilateral cooperation has been strengthened, with several important infrastructures and cross-border connectivity projects completed with the help of India.
