The official maintains his communication to the federation on the position of K’Ogalo on the sponsorship agreements remains authentic
Gor Mahia General Secretary Sam Ochola has stated that his letter authorizing the StarTimes partnership agreement overrides the club’s president, Ambrose Rachier.
In a press release on Tuesday, Rachier suspended Ochola for backing the Kenya Football Federation (FKF) and the StarTimes deal claiming he did so without consulting other officials.
In response, Ochola has maintained that he signed the letter as he is empowered by the statutes that have established his office.
“I am the custodian of communication in the club and responsible for the Secretariat of all the club’s dealings. The letter signed on behalf of Gor Mahia to FKF remains and will continue to be valid, ”said Ochola in a document obtained by objective.
Goal 50 Revealed – World’s Top 50 Players
Guided under articles 2 (b), 11 (a), 19, 79 (a) (c) and 81 of the FKF constitution, together with a limited time, before the start of the league and, of course, participation in the Champions League this weekend in Rwanda, I signed the document in good faith and with absolute impartiality for our beloved club as Secretary General ”.
The newly elected official also revealed what prompted him to sign the letter that now threatens the team preparing for the Caf Champions League.
“Yes, I signed the document,” added Ochola. “We had numerous discussions at the meeting of members of the Executive Committee where we resolved to sign the club in the newly created FKF Premier League,” he added.
“Gor Mahia is participating in local and international soccer courtesy of FKF as a FIFA representative in Kenya. Should Gor Mahia stop playing football because of an individual? No.
“It was never because they were coercing, cajoling or blackmailing me, as the president claimed yesterday. I have signed many documents for Gor Mahia as general secretary and director of the club secretariat, including the contractual ones, and I wonder if they are also illegal under article 15 of the club ”.
The Secretary General also shed more light on the controversial issue of the money clubs will receive from the FKF-StarTimes association.
“The president alleged that FKF has not disclosed the amount of cash in the StarTimes association,” he concluded.
“This is the abstract; Each club receives KSh10 million for participation in the league, the sponsor also pays the brand’s invoices, pays the referees and covers the production costs.
“Today, the chairman of Gor Mahia, who also serves as chairman of KPL, knows that KPL provides a fraction of this sponsorship.
“Gor Mahia is ruined! We want to pool whatever monetary support is available to reduce the huge operating cost, even if there are no kickbacks for people; it’s for the good of the club. “
