- Charles Hoskinson reveals the dream of building Cardano community centers on every continent in the world.
- Expect that by 2025, Cardano will be able to support at least 1 billion unique users.
IOHK CEO Charles Hoskinson in a recent video plans established to build community centers in major cities around the world. Hoskinson mentioned that the community centers would be tasked with helping localize the use of Cardano among the local population of each community. He went on to discuss how these centers for efficiency could be built in each community.
In Cardano’s early days, the firm had three divisions: IOHK, Emurgo, and the Cardano Foundation (CF). The three divisions worked collectively for the overall growth and development of the Cardano protocol. IOHK focused on developing the scientific side of things, while Emurgo was the commercial arm. However, CF focused on how to deal with the nagging issues in governance and regulations.
CF initially settled on the Isle of Man. This is an island near the United Kingdom. But due to some administrative problems, the foundation moved to Switzerland. During this period, the Director of the Foundation, Micheal Parson, had to be removed from his position due to his method of operation.
A new interim board was created with the mandate to represent the will of the community. But at the entrance of this new board, CF still had the problem of “who controls the Cardano plane?” Not only this, the board still struggles when it comes to community representation.
Hoskinson believes that the solution to this would be to establish a community center that would be established around the world. These centers would regularly receive grants and direction from the CF board on their operations. The hubs could also localize the use of Cardano which he believes would accelerate the growth of the crypto asset.
He went on to identify that the CF board would perform oversight functions at these centers. He points out that these hubs would play a huge role in getting locals to use Cardano. It is therefore necessary to provide these centers with the necessary level of support and resources to enable them to operate effectively in their host communities.
The IOHK CEO went on to advise that these centers should operate with John Buck’s Sociocracy system. He says this system would be a catalyst to bring out the best in the group. And again, the centers would hold elections regularly to determine their operations and leadership.
Cardano entering a new phase
Hoskinson has stated that Cardano’s dream would be to have a billion unique users on his platform by 2025. He believes this is something that is quite achievable considering the fact that Facebook was also able to achieve the same goal in five years.
He went on to point out that this would be a very easy mission to accomplish. But he firmly believes that with the right infrastructure and the right setup, it would be possible. He also pointed out that Cardano would need to have smart contracts, become more decentralized, and also have other factors in this new phase that it is heading towards.
Hoskinson says that without all of those factors in place, platform users and investors wouldn’t be able to vote on what the next phase would be. You can see the latest video update here:
