Recently, Twitter started implementing its version of Instagram Called stories Twitter fleets Worldwide. With Twitter Fleets, users can post content that will disappear in 24 hours. However, due to an error, the fleets they don’t go away after 24 hours.
As TechCrunch reported, the bug also allows other users to download and view fleets without notifying the author of that particular fleet. Twitter has now recognized the problem and is also trying to fix it. A Twitter spokesperson told The Verge: “We are aware of a bug accessible through a technical fix where some Fleets media URLs may be accessible after 24 hours. We are working on a fix that should be implemented shortly. ”
User-posted fleets appear on their timelines for 24 hours, but Twitter stores fleets in the back-end for up to 30 days. During this time, a fleet is available on a user’s Twitter data downloads. Unlike normal tweets, fleets will not receive replies, likes or retweets.
The fleets will not appear in the users’ usual Twitter timeline. A user has to visit the public Twitter profile and then tap their fleets to see it. In addition, users will not be able to circulate the Fleets on the Twitter network and they will not appear in searches or Moments. Also, users will not be able to embed them on an external website.
Twitter also allows users to upload any text, photo, and video as a fleet. To post a Fleet, users must tap the ‘Share’ icon located at the bottom of a tweet and then click ‘Share to Fleet’. The Fleet will appear at the top of your followers’ timelines. The fleets will also be visible at the top of your profile.
