On a recent episode of the show, Weinberg admitted that he is a private person who normally doesn’t like to share much about his life. Since it really doesn’t make sense for a private person to participate in such a popular TV show, some people wondered what made Weinberg sign up.
In an Instagram question and answer session, captured by Screen Rant, she shed some light on the situation. He said he originally saw an ad on Craigslist for people who had fallen in love with foreigners, so he applied thinking that the production “might get a visa for Bini.” Later, he discovered that this was not the case.
During the shoot, a fan asked, “How did you decide to film with TLC and be on ’90 Day Fiancé ‘?”
“Although I was very camera shy, I agreed to do the show for Bini,” Weinberg wrote. “I wanted him to show his talents! Basically, I found a way to get paid to travel. “
Weinberg’s initial reasoning makes sense, as it will not be easy to obtain a visa for Shibre, who has applied for it many times before. After marrying his ex-wife, he applied for a visitor visa at the U.S. Embassy in Addis Ababa and was denied, according to HawkEye. When their first child was diagnosed with gastroschisis, they decided that the child should be born in the United States. Shibre applied for another visa to see her son born and that application was also denied. Before his third request, his ex-wife got Iowa Senator Charles Grassley to even write Shibre a letter of recommendation, according to ScreenRant, but that request was also denied.

He eventually came to the United States on humanitarian parole, but it would probably be difficult to apply for a visa a fourth time.
