The Ethiopian government said its forces have been advancing towards Tigray region on Saturday after Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed unleashed a military campaign against the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) on November 4.

Ethiopian forces said they had seized another city while advancing towards the northern region’s capital of Tigray.
Government forces said they were going to take Mekelle even when TPLF they delved into it and said they had made progress on the southern and northern fronts.
Federal forces said they had taken control of several cities, including Aksum and Adigrat, which lies north of Mekelle, even when there were reports of rocket attacks in Bahir Dar, which is the capital of the Asmara region.
