Pep Guardiola will have an elaborate list of his next assignments after he is handed a new three-year contract at Manchester City.
The Spaniard has been in command at the Etihad Stadium since 2016, winning two Premier League titles and several other trophies.
Despite his domestic success, there are those who argue that the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager has not lived up to his potential at City.
So what are the five tasks Guardiola could complete to put himself firmly on the map as a legend of the game for his time with the Sky Blues?

Sign Messi in January
Now this would be the blockbuster move we’ve all been waiting for.
Lionel Messi has once again stirred the pot by saying that he is “tired of always being the problem” in Barcelona, leading to serious suggestions that he could be packing his bags in January.
And just like when the summer saga was unfolding, a meeting with Guardiola at City seems to be the most likely option.
Find a long-term replacement for Agüero
Sergio Agüero will turn 33 at the beginning of next season and will surely begin to decline soon.
The Argentine has also struggled with injuries in recent months, leaving Gabriel Jesus to take much of the slack.
Ferran Torres was hired over the summer, but another six-yard box forward should be on Guardiola’s wish list for next summer.

Guardiola is currently suffering his worst start to the season, having accumulated just 12 points in seven league games so far.
The city is currently ranked 10th in this upside down campaign, and a few decent results would definitely put them back on the right track.
The funny thing is that they are still the bookies’ favorites to win the league, which says a lot about Guardiola as a coach.

Find a place to fit Foden
Phil Foden showed how good he is with a quick double for England on Wednesday night, but is he being given a chance to replicate that at City?
To be fair, the 20-year-old has had more starts this season, but he’s getting thrown in here, there and everywhere.
If Foden is to develop his full potential, he needs a stable place in offensive midfield.

This is the one Pep wants more than anything, and it’s there for him to go and grab.
Real Madrid is a mere shadow of what it once was, Barcelona is in a tumultuous transition phase: Bayern Munich, Liverpool and perhaps PSG are its main competitors.
It’s not exactly now or never for Guardiola when it comes to the Champions League, but it’s probably the best chance he’ll get.
