Addis Ababa – Ethiopia reaffirms its ability and determination to manage and manage its own rule of law operation without any outside intervention, the Prime Minister’s Office said.
In a statement released today, the office said the government continues to take on the irreversible task of enforcing the rule of law in the regional state of Tigray, which began last week after the TPLF’s treacherous attacks on the National Defense Forces of Ethiopia (ENDF). .
The Federal Government is asserting its constitutional mandate to defend the rule of law in accordance with the laws of the country, he said.
As a sovereign nation, Ethiopia reaffirms its ability and resolve to administer and manage its own rule of law operation without any outside intervention, according to the statement.
“Our National Defense Forces have not only been the pride of Ethiopia, but they have internationally demonstrated their professionalism and ability as peacekeepers deployed in many nations,” he said.
With overwhelming popular support for the cause of justice and the rule of law and through the Tigray Interim Administration currently being established under the leadership of Dr. Mulu Nega Kahsay, he stated, adding that “we are confident that the order lasting peace will finally be maintained in Tigray as we achieve and finalize our operational objectives. “
With the public admission yesterday by a senior TPLF member and spokesperson that the ENDF Northern Command was attacked, our determination to apprehend criminal elements within the TPLF is stronger than ever, he said.
As the ENDF moves forward, liberating and taking over various areas within the region, the crimes against humanity committed by the belligerent clique have become quite apparent.
The heinous and reprehensible massacre committed against innocent civilians in Mykadra by the TPLF is clearly a grave violation of the most basic norms of international law.
Such horrendous attacks on civilians perpetrated by the TPLF are an abominable transgression that the international community must not only take note of, but also condemn in the strongest possible terms, he added.
The international community must also support the Federal Government in its efforts to bring the perpetrators of such heinous crimes to justice.
“We are aware of the desperate and desperate attempts to escape the responsibility that the TPLF board will assume,” he said.
However, he noted that “we want to assure everyone that the operation we have undertaken to bring to justice any individual or group that attempts to destabilize Ethiopia will be carried out with the principle of limited harm to the civilian population.”
“With an unwavering commitment, we will see the end of this operation,” he stressed.
