Samsung has launched a new type of all-in-one monitor, and the company believes it can serve more than one purpose in the age of work from home. The device, simply called the Smart Monitor, is in essence a Tizen-powered smart TV with PC capability. It is the first smart TV of the brand with integrated WiFi, Bluetooth Y Wireless DeX Capability. The monitor also supports AirPlay 2, allowing you to share media such as videos, photos, and music from AirPlay devices like iPhones, iPads, and Macs.
While you can use the device as a traditional monitor, you can use it to view, edit, and save Office 365 applications in the cloud without having to connect it to a PC or laptop. However, if you have a Galaxy Note 20, you can turn it into a computer via the Dex wireless feature that was released with the phone. We weren’t impressed by Dex’s wireless experience when we tested it for our phone review; there was a lot of latency when we used the Note 20 Ultra as a trackpad, for example, but it might be good enough if you need quick access to a desktop.
