Just two days after the “One More Thing” event, the first orders for Apple M1-powered MacBook Airs begin shipping to customers. Currently, the first deliveries are scheduled to arrive next week, Apple says.
If you check the status of your order through Apple’s website, you will likely see that your MacBook Air, Mac mini, or MacBook Pro is still “preparing to ship.” But if you go to the UPS website, you can track the progress of your order and see how it reaches your status.
To track your Apple Silicon Mac order, sign up on the UPS My Choice platform or use the “Track by Reference Number” feature. The reference number is likely to be the phone number on your Apple order, or your order number without the last two digits. Tracking by reference number or via My Choice will also reveal the actual tracking number of your package.
As of now, we’ve confirmed that the first MacBook Air and Pro orders have shipped, but the first Mac mini orders are likely to start shipping to customers as soon as today as well. Apple is likely to update the shipping status of the first Apple Silicon Mac orders as soon as this weekend or Monday.
The UPS website currently shows that the first orders are in transit from China and clear customs.
Apple has promised that the first orders for the M1 Mac mini, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air will arrive on Tuesday, November 17. As of now, UPS tracking shows some people that their order will arrive on Monday, November 16. Not that it ends up paying off remains to be seen, but it is very rare that orders for new Apple products arrive before Apple’s launch date.
