Samsung has brought the cell phone back into the future with the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G – the smartphone that folds out onto a 7.6-inch tablet for a bigger, more functional screen experience every day. Available now, the Galaxy Z Fold2 is the latest in Samsung’s Galaxy Fold series, with its iconic silhouette that opens and closes like a book. This new design features state-of-the-art technology such as the high-tech hinge that joins the two panels and an ultra-thin glass touch screen that is thinner than a human hair.
To demonstrate the Z Fold2, we handed out a phone to four Highsnobiety staff in four different fields: style editor, photographer, videographer, and creative leader. Each staff member reported what they love about the phone and how it helped them with their tasks. See their answers below.
1. Graeme Campbell, style editor
“I write a lot on my phone, especially on the go during press trips and fashion week. Writing on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G is the closest thing to a real computer. I use the Microsoft Office Suite a lot to write editorials and make presentations with things like Word and PowerPoint, and they work so easily on the phone that I can even have a couple of applications open at the same time. The user interface is easy to navigate and the fact that it can be easily folded and stored saves a lot of space in the bag. The ideal phone for tasks. “

“I used the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G camera to take outdoor nature photos as well as a still life session in the HS studio. What impressed me the most was the precise detail that the camera could capture with the macro and Depth of field effects to bring out the fine details of a subject that would not normally be seen with a normal phone camera These features seemed quite powerful to me.
Shooting in “flex mode” was also convenient. The benefit of having two screens in one session allows you to take photos on one screen and at the same time have a reference to the shots you’ve already taken, which I found very useful for planning the next shots. “

“A big part of my day is finding visual references and photos to create mood boards for upcoming Highsnobiety sessions, so the multi-asset showcase of the Galaxy Z Fold2 5G has totally changed the game for me. Essentially, it acts like a mini-moodboard in my pocket where I can see a bunch of different images on a big screen and superimpose them just like I would when making a moodboard. My favorite feature is the dimmer feature that lets you easily overlay images and drag and drop them on top of each other for a truly creative feel that you’ve never been able to achieve on a phone before. I also love the big screen for viewing mood images and finding inspiration. “

“Putting a screen like this in my pocket is insane. The camera is amazing, and being able to edit on such a big screen and easily share allows me to work anywhere. I’m also very excited to spend more time testing her hands -Mode free camera, which is a pretty crazy little tool that will definitely elevate the way I work. As soon as I open the phone in tablet mode, all the apps adapt in the blink of an eye to fit whatever window size you need to work on. Which is nice when you have to have about 100 tabs open at the same time as me. “
