The Ethiopian Defense Force (ENDF) executes its mission in accordance with constitutional provisions and its activities never fall into the wrong hands of an entity or group, it said in a statement issued last Friday.
The ENDF indicated that a statement was released in various media in Tigray that violated article 87 (5) of the Constitution, which establishes that the armed forces perform functions free of any partisanship with any political organization.
The entity responsible for the statement further stated that the ENDF cannot manage its organization, ENDF said, adding that the statement goes in a way
that it tries to dissuade the mission of the Force, which must be carried out in accordance with the institutional plan of the Force and the Force’s analysis of the level of current threats to national security.
He added that at a time when members of the Force are pledging to carry out their duties with the utmost courage and discipline, some who do not want to see Ethiopia’s peace and security have been pursuing their political and group interests to try to tarnish good reputation. of the strength. Despite his attempts that are deemed unsuccessful, the Force’s focus would only be on his mission, he adds.
However, another distortion is, says the ENDF statement, manufacturing presents ENDF as an entity that has turned a deaf ear when public safety was threatened and how it is to protect the interests of political forces, while the truth is that the Force has proven time and time again. their solidarity with the public by neutralizing threats.
Such fabrications have not been a surprise; rather, they have become standard group practices. But the Force has shown tolerance for the respect and benefit of the peoples.
In addition, it says that the ENDF has been fulfilling its responsibilities under the Constitution, reiterating the commitment to continue recording the bright victories, enduring tough challenges and ignoring the falsehoods spread by the anti-peace forces.
He said that in addition to defending the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ethiopia throughout the country, without succumbing to difficult terrain and climatic factors, the members of the force have also been participating in the rescue efforts of the regions affected by the floods and supporting farmers in their fight against the invasion of locust swarms.
The ENDF has been paying sacrifices in expensive lives by being deployed in several African countries; further, it has been fighting terrorism, which is the enemy of the world community, our region and our own country, by defeating Al-Shabaab, which is based in neighboring Somalia.
