Black Ops Cold War will see the return of a fan-favorite mode, in a new Call of Duty setting, with plenty of action and free content in the works.
COD Zombies has become a staple of the Black Ops subseries, and while we don’t get a new version every year, there have been a lot of different takes.
The Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Zombies mode has already been revealed by developers Treyarch, and it looks like it will offer a lot of combat with Undead.
Activision is revamping Zombies for Cold War, including how players will enhance their experience.
“This four-person co-op mode is set to take veterans and newcomers alike on a daring and terrifying journey that expands into an iconic part of the Call of Duty franchise.
A message from Activision reveals: “Longtime fans will probably find something familiar with this new chapter, but that’s for players to discover on their journey …
“What’s canon is canon, but… with Black Ops Cold War, Zombies is starting over with a new narrative and a – let’s say, new? – cast of characters. The mode features new ways to progress, classic fan-favorite perks, and an arsenal of Cold War weaponry to help survivors dominate legions of the undead. “
The good news is that Zombies will have cross-platform and generational support, which will make it possible to enjoy cross-play with friends on different devices.
Another big change will be the introduction of Zombies in Call of Duty Battle Pass, joining others like Warzone.
Players will now progress through the Battle Pass over time played in Zombies, similar to Multiplayer and Call of Duty: Warzone. Members of the Requiem team can also start the game with a weapon of choice for the gunsmiths via the equipment rack.
The big question for many is when will they start playing Call of Duty Zombies in 2020?
IS THERE A BLACK OPS COLD WAR ZOMBIES BETA?
For now, developers Treyarch have not commented on bringing a Cold War Zombies experience to the current Beta version of Call of Duty.
The possibility of hosting a special COD Zombies open beta prior to the release of Black Ops Cold War has also not been mentioned.
So for now, we only know of a date for when everyone can jump into the new experience on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
This will be one of the release dates for Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War, which was set for November 13, 2020.
The current beta version of Call of Duty is scheduled to run over the next few days and will end on Monday, October 19, 2020.
During this time, the game will be available to download and play for free on all platforms starting October 17.
PS4 players can access the open beta now, along with those who have pre-ordered the game on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Here are some of the things to look forward to during the Cold War Open Beta this weekend:
Control: A competitive favorite returning from Black Ops 4, Control tasks players with capturing or defending two stationary targets or points on the map.
Difficult point: Two teams compete for control of a rotating target area called the Hardpoint or “hill.” Players must stay within the Hardpoint to earn points over time. A standard game of Hardpoint lasts five minutes.
Domination: Two teams compete for control of three locations on the map marked with lettered landmarks: A, B, and C.
Team Deathmatch: Two teams fight each other in a challenge based on elimination. The first team to acquire the target number of kills wins the game.
Combined Arms: Domination: Large-scale domination. This 12v12 game mode pits players on large maps with access to vehicles such as tanks, snowmobiles, Wakerunners, and gunboats depending on the map.
Combined Arms: Assault: A classic game of tug of war. Combo Weapons: Assault supports teams of up to 12v12 and tasks each team with capturing all targets on the map. The match begins with a neutral target in the middle of the map. The first team to capture it will activate the next available zone, further back at the enemy base.
Escort VIP: In this new multiplayer mode, a random player from the escort side is designated as a VIP in each round. The escort team wins if the VIP successfully reaches one of the two exfiltration sites, or if the opposing team is eliminated. The escort team loses if the VIP is eliminated or the two-and-a-half minute timer runs out to zero before escaping.
Fireteam: dirty bomb: Fireteam is a massively multiplayer experience where 10 four-player Fireteams land on the largest maps within Black Ops Cold War.
