Spellbreak unveiled its next big update in its new praise trailer, which includes the announcement of new modes for the magic-based Battle Royale.
In our recent review of the game, we mentioned that it was a great battle royale for people who are not so good at battle royale and we also mentioned the lack of content in the game. Fortunately, this new update addresses the latter.
The first big addition is the 9v9 Clash Mode, a kind of Deathmatch-style endeavor where three teams of three will battle each other. Spellbreak’s magic-based battle mechanics are what make the game stand out, making this mode perfect for people who enjoy wreaking elemental havoc on opponents.
Next up is a big one too, Prologue: The Gathering Storm, a quest mode that will open up the world of Spellbreak where players will be able to take part in weekly missions for unique rewards. This is similar to the story mode that was added in Apex Legends in Season 5, although it was more of a PvE matter and it is unknown if it will be the same in Spellbreak.
Spellbreak’s equippable passive skill system, known as Talents, is also getting new additions. This includes Vigor, which gives players extra health, Ambidextrous, which enables the passive class ability on a player’s clumsy-hand gauntlet, and Foresight which reveals nearby players on the minimap and displays upcoming shrines and circles.
Lastly, come the “Hallowed Eve” additions, which will provide players with unlockable Halloween-themed skins, emotes and more.
All of these new additions will come to Spellbreak via an update on October 22.
