Redmi Note 10 could have a 108MP main camera: rumor

Rumors about Redmi’s upcoming Note series have started pouring in. According to the latter, the Redmi Note 10 is up and running and could launch with a 108MP main camera. If so, it would be the first Redmi-branded device equipped with that pixel count. In addition, it is scheduled to launch in China later this month. However, there is no official information about the device yet.

The latest information comes from insider Digital Chat Station who has posted a cryptic post on Weibo. The post hints that the Redmi Note 10 may have a 108MP main camera. It suggests that an unknown smartphone with the model number ending in ‘J17’ may have a high megapixel count. In particular, these are just speculation, as the insider has not mentioned the name of the phone. The position was open to interpretation.

Separately, a post on Weibo from an unknown informant hints at the development of the Redmi Note 10 series with the model number M2007J17C. The post cites industry sources to speculate that the model number belongs to the Redmi brand, possibly the Redmi Note 10 series. It is also the same model number as the previous leak. Furthermore, the post adds that the Redmi Note 10 could be launched in China at the end of October.

The above development suggests that Digital Chat Station is probably referring to Redmi’s Note 10 smartphone. If true, the smartphone could end up getting a 108MP main camera. For reference, the Redmi Note series has always been a mid-range lineup. Hence, the upcoming Redmi Note 10 could also be the first mid-range smartphone to feature a 108MP sensor. It would be a huge leap from the 48MP camera found on its Redmi Note 9 predecessor.

The device has a model number of M2007J17G. Therefore, the smartphone in question, the Redmi Note 10, could very well be a phone with a new name.
