The Tecno Camon 16 was first introduced last month alongside the Camon 16 Pro and the Camon 16 Premier arrived in India. This time we get a proper spec sheet, and we learn that the phone is powered by the Helio G70 SoC, runs Android 10 with HiOS 7.0 on top, and has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. The smartphone also comes with a dedicated slot for a microSD card that allows storage expansion of up to 256GB.
The Camon 16 is built around a 6.8 “HD + resolution screen, which has a hole in the upper left corner for the 16MP selfie camera, which comes with Super Night Shot, 2K video recording and Video Bokeh.
On the back, we have a quad camera setup, which is a combination of a 64MP primary unit, 2MP macro, 2MP depth, and 2MP AI lenses. These are linked by a fingerprint reader for biometric authentication and come with night portrait mode, 10x zoom, slow motion video recording, and bokeh video.
The Camon 16 also comes with a feature called Eye Autofocus, for front and rear cameras, which Tecno says “stabilizes focus around the eyes and makes portraits sharp.”
The Helio G70-powered smartphone also has a feature called Super Night Shot, which is powered by TAIVOS (TECNO AI Vision Optimization Solution) that filters out image noise and optimizes photo and video quality.
The Tecno Camon 16 comes in Cloud White, Purist Blue, and Misty Gray colors, and ships with a 5,000 mAh battery that charges up to 18W via a microUSB port.
It is priced at INR 10,999 ($ 150 / € 130) and will be available on Flipkart from October 16.
