Google Meet for Android just got a sleek UI redesign

Google said Friday that it is updating the Google Meet user interface on Android. The updated user interface features conveniences like a quick start summary and a new meeting button that will display three options:

  • Learn about joining the meeting to share with others.
  • Start a Meet call instantly.
  • Schedule a new meeting in Google Calendar.

The color scheme is also a friendlier blue color rather than the swampy green Meet is known for.

Updated Google Meet UI for Android

Google Meet has become the latest star of Google’s productivity suite, which recently got a little rebrand. The video chat application allows businesses, educators, friends and family to connect from anywhere in the world. During this pandemic, it has become one of the best ways to keep in touch.

The service originally received a graceful redesign when the Meet tab was implemented in Gmail, and the same design was soon incorporated into the dedicated mobile app for iOS. It’s good to finally see the same experience making its way to Meet for Android.

The updated Google Meet for Android user interface should be available to all users, including Workspace customers and anyone with a personal Google account.
