Reports of overheating spoiling Xbox Series X; but how true are they?

[ad_1]

Over the past few days, influencers, journalists, and critics have received Xbox Series X for review. This is common practice in the video game industry, considering that the media typically publish their practical reviews for upcoming consoles a day or two before the actual release date. It’s exciting to see that Xbox has submitted its consoles to hundreds of reviewers almost a month before launch, but apparently there is already some unfavorable news regarding the console.

You may have come across this particular news story that says how the X Series emits a lot of heat. VGC reported this first where the headline read The reporter says that Xbox Series X can get hot like a fireplace.

This should have caught your eye and for good reason too. Any information that claims that a next-gen console like the X Series has heating issues should be analyzed. The article was written citing the creator of Twitch. Ken bogard video. He allegedly claimed that “The X Series is hot, really hot! It doesn’t make any noise, but damn, it’s hot! The console emits heat like crazy. It is almost like a chimney pit. You can heat your floor with it. “

Although, this video has now been removed and no reason is provided for it. In fact, this raises questions about these seemingly exaggerated claims. In addition to this, Ken also responded to a question from a Twitter follower regarding this to which he replied ‘FAKE NEWS’.

More claims suggesting the Xbox Series X has heating issues

This is only part of the story. The second part is where YouTuber Jeff Bakalar mentioned that the expandable SSD felt ‘warm’. This was misquoted in various articles as Jeff “burning his hand”, which is not true. Jeff even tweeted to clarify this and cleared all the doubts anyone had. Check out below.

There was another claim that suggested Jez Corden, a writer for Windows Central, said the X Series could “heat a room.” The real story was actually something else. Take a look at what he tweeted in response to these claims.

Things were obviously exaggerated here and the real story was something else entirely. Popular YouTuber Rand al Thor 19 managed to debunk all of these seemingly exaggerated claims in his latest video. Check out below.

In addition, journalists have also busted the news claiming that the X Series has an overheating problem. The Verge editor Tom Warren tweets “A lot of people keep asking me about the Xbox Series X heat. I’m under embargo. Just consider this, Microsoft wouldn’t ship these consoles to hundreds of journalists, streamers, and youtubers if they had heat issues. They just didn’t let people touch the console at all. “

It’s surprising to see people believe these claims, even though there’s no proper first-hand review yet. This was definitely not good for Xbox, but luckily the truth is out now. The X Series is still a beast that has great cooling and only time will tell if any real heating issues persist.
