(Pocket-lint) – Nintendo has announced that its first theme park, Super Nintendo World, will open at Universal Studios Japan in Osaka next spring. Nintendo also announced that it will open a cafe and Mario store in Universal Studio Japan’s Hollywood area in October.

Super Nintendo World was supposed to open before the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, although the opening was eventually delayed with the Games due to the pandemic. The long-awaited park will have plenty of Nintendo-themed attractions, with a Mario Kart ride.

In addition, the park will use smart bracelets connected to a mobile application to allow visitors to participate in a coin collecting game.

Universal Studios and Nintendo have said they plan to open similar experiences in parks in Orlando, Hollywood and Singapore.

As for the new Mario Cafe, you can order food like Mario and Luigi’s pancake sandwiches and a Super Mushroom drink, while the store will sell merchandise like T-shirts. In fact, Nintendo’s announcement about the delayed opening of Super Nintendo World mainly focused on the cafeteria and store. The company published several versions of what the spaces look like and what you can buy there.

The Mario Cafe and Store are scheduled to open in the Hollywood area of Universal Studio Japan on October 16, 2020. Super Nintendo World is expected to open approximately six months later, sometime in the spring of 2021.
