The Snapdragon 875 chipset, which will likely be used in the Galaxy S21 series, will be announced in December. Qualcomm has begun sending out press invites for the online-only event that will take place December 1-2.

While Qualcomm hasn’t exactly confirmed that it will launch the Snapdragon 875 chipset during the event, the company reveals its flagship mobile chipset in December during the Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit in Hawaii. And this year should be no different, except that the event will be online-only due to the ongoing pandemic, necessary social distancing rules, and travel restrictions.

The Snapdragon 875 chipset is expected to be a 5nm chipset using one Cortex-X1 CPU core, three Cortex-A78 CPU cores, four Cortex-A55 CPU cores, and the integrated Snapdragon X60 5G modem. In addition to the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 +, and Galaxy S21 Ultra, the chipset is likely to be used in flagship smartphones from other brands, including OnePlus, OPPO, Realme, Vivo, and Xiaomi.

During the event, Qualcomm could also present the premium mid-range chipset Snapdragon 775G. To remind you, the new Snapdragon 875, Snapdragon 875G, Snapdragon 775G and Snapdragon 735G chipsets are expected to be manufactured by Samsung Foundry. Samsung will also introduce its own flagship chipset, the 5nm Exynos 1000, early next year.
