One can spend a whole day repeating the same two lines from the chorus without resetting the song title. You could have heard a catchy tune from an old song in traffic or a modern EDM beat suddenly popped into your head. But no matter how hard you try to figure out the details in your head, you will find yourself at a dead end. Only until now. Spotify will now come to the rescue. Based on the latest lyrics search update, users will be able to type the lyrics and access the song title easily in the app.
Spotify Designer Lina Wang tweeted the update Recently. As you can see from the image, once users type certain letters in the search bar, Spotify the search reveals all songs that have the same lyrics in the result. Titles also have a ‘Letter Match’ tag below them.
My team just sent something on iOS and Android:

The update has already started rolling out for Android and iOS users, according to Lina. Now users won’t have to type the lyrics in search engines to discover the track and then open music streaming apps to add the song to their favorites. However, Spotify is not the first platform to offer the service.
This update brings Spotify at the level of Apple Music which has been providing lyrics search since 2018. With iOS 12, Apple had brought the same feature to its Music app. I like it Spotify, users had to go to the search bar at Apple Music, write part of the letter they can remember and press search.
Another feature that both competing platforms share is the collaborative playlist that Spotify added a few days ago. With this feature, you can invite others to “exchange podcast recommendations, share your latest musical discoveries, and create the perfect playlist” with them. According to the company blog, users can add others only in playlists they have created themselves.
