Minecraft is an extremely popular and well-known video game, yet for so long it managed to avoid representation in the Smash Serie. Now, his incorporation into the game has overcome the impact of important characters like Banjo or Joker. The problem is that Nintendo has now set the bar as high as possible, which means that if the studio wants to see a similar reaction for the next Super Smash Bros. The developers even made sure Steve’s moveset is completely unique, which is why he plays like no other character in the series. To recreate the same reaction Steve received, Nintendo will need a character with a reputation and movement potential at the same level.
The most important character that comes to mind in this department is Main boss by Halo. It’s pretty much the face of the first-person shooter genre, and Smash It hardly represents any of those types of games. Since, like Steve, it is owned by Microsoft, Main bossaddition to Smash It would bring a level of surprise similar to Steve’s, and it would definitely please many fans. Other big name characters that Nintendo could publish would be Leon Kennedy from Demonic resident, Crash Bandicoot, or even Kratos from God of War, if Nintendo could reach an agreement with Sony. In the meantime, Super Smash Bros. Fans can enjoy giving Steve a spin as they eagerly await the reveal of the next DLC fighter.
