Fan-made trailers are on the internet, and many come via Star Wars fandom over the years. One in particular from stryderHD shows Keanu Reeves as a Jedi, apparently in the role of the famous and beloved Darth Revan, who has recently been made into canon by way of a reference book, but has yet to be fully used in canon.
Keanu Reeves is a beloved actor in Hollywood, and many fans have wanted to see him in a Star Wars paper for years. There are many options, drawn from the Legends material, as well as a lot of potential for the original characters, but who could really play Keanu Reeves in a Star Wars movie?
10 [Darth] Revan
Sticking with the idea of Keanu playing Revan, it’s the most apparent setting, and many fans of the character have speculated and created fan art over the years.
Some will say that Keanu is too old, but he doesn’t need to play a young Revan. Keanu would need to do his best to capture Revan’s complications, but there aren’t many better options for playing the character, assuming Canon decides to have Revan as a man.
9 Carth Onasi
There are likely other actors who would be better suited to play the role of Republic soldier Carth Onasi from Knights of the Old Republic, but even if it’s overdone, it’s still a role that Keanu could play.
Give Carth a slightly darker beard, shorten Keanu’s hair, and you’ve got a decent combination when it comes to looks. With Carth’s emotionally distant and mentally feisty character being versatile and skilled, Keanu could do a lot with that.
8 Kylo Ren / Ben Solo
This is simply an absolute impossibility as Kylo Ren / Ben Solo unfortunately died at the end of the sequel trilogy. However, in some kind of hypothetical scenario, Keanu would be a perfect older Ben.
Marvel is already releasing a ‘what if?’ show, then Star Wars Following his lead would be great, and seeing an older, wiser, Jedi-style version of Ben training Jedi would be perfect for Keanu.
7 A different Old Republic Sith
In current canon, a seriously lacking department is Sith. There is a decent amount of Sith canon, but very few of them have any characters or backstories.
A new and original Sith from the Old Republic days or an established one like Revan would be a great role for Keanu, giving him the rare opportunity to play a bad boy.
6 Jedi of the Old Republic
Of course, everyone loves Keanu Reeves, and he’s not a bad guy, so a Jedi would be more suitable for him, specifically from the Old Republic, especially based on the fan trailer.
The Ancient Jedi, or even the Pre-High Republic Jedi, is another form that canon is lacking, and there are a plethora of smaller and lesser-known Keanu Jedi who could take on the role. Of course, there is the avenue of the original Jedi, and in a few years, Keanu would be a perfect fit with an old Jedi Master similar to Obi-Wan Kenobi from the original trilogy.
5 Exar Kun
While Keanu would undoubtedly be better suited to a Jedi, or to Revan, who fluctuates between his Force affiliation, a Sith that some have spoken of as Reeves is the mighty Exar Kun.
Shave Keanu’s beard and tie his hair back, and as long as Reeves looks menacing, the look is there. Kun is part of the canon, but only by name; its history has not developed, something that will hopefully be rectified in the future.
4 Run horn
Corran Horn combines the two favorite subsections of many fans of Star Wars good guys, pilots and Jedi, with Horn starting out as part of Rogue Squadron before harnessing his strength potential under Luke Skywalker.
Horn was both extremely analytical, with great faith in instinct, and was both a loner and a hero at times in his life. Horn is another character who has yet to be brought into canon and never will in the iteration he had in the Legends timeline, but that doesn’t mean Keanu can’t play a new version of the character.
3 Count Dooku
Count Dooku was portrayed by the incomparable Christopher Lee in the prequels, before a great voice performance by Corey Burton in The Clone Wars. However, a younger Dooku has not been told a story on screen.
Keanu could fit that role. Of course, that would require a level of sophistication and smoothness that may not be common in Reeves’ filmography, but it would be silly to clarify Reeves in that regard.
two Kyle katarn
Kyle Katarn is one of the most beloved heroes in the Legends timeline and one that fans who grew up with the Expanded Universe have clamored for. Ignoring his advanced age, Keanu would be a perfect fit with Katarn.
Katarn is another character that is known to fluctuate in terms of being a Jedi or not and is one with a phenomenal story that deserves to be told over time, and in that sense, it is perhaps too much for Reeves. However, Reeves, as a beloved Jedi, fits in quite well.
one Stellen gios
All the fans they currently have of the new High Republic Jedi are various pieces of concept art, but one Jedi whose art stands out is Stellen Gios, who seems like a prime candidate for Reeves /Star Wars combination.
Again, age may be an issue for some, but the High Republic looks like it will stick around for the long haul, and Gios is already a Jedi Master, so who’s to say Keanu wouldn’t be the perfect fit for the part. in terms of age? .
