Yes, it is basically what we expected.
A lot of details about the Pixel 5 had already been leaked beforehand, and we also had an idea what it would include from the Pixel 4a, which arrived this summer. Yes, we got the same screen style, with a pinhole front camera, and unsurprisingly, the Pixel 5 comes with a 6-inch, 2340 x 1080 screen. There is no XL model this year, just this model.
Google is also bringing back the missing fingerprint sensor from last year’s Pixel 4. No more face unlock feature that didn’t set the world on fire. Also missing this year are the strange non-contact controls that worked with an ultra-wideband radar sensor on the screen. The Pixel 5 has a dual camera on the back. But instead of going for the standard and telephoto arrangement, Google swapped the telephoto lens for a wide-angle shooter.
If you are interested, you will have to wait until the end of October to get one.
