Middle Eastern giant Qatar Airways has announced its winter schedule and is proud to say that by the end of the year it will offer service to 124 destinations. This comes with the continued relaxation of entry restrictions around the world. The October 2 announcement comes with an extensive list of all Qatar Airways destinations. Let’s see where the carrier will fly to next season.
The slow march to recovery
It was in January at the Kuwait Aviation Show that Qatar Airways announced eight new destinations, reminding travelers that the airline was continuing its role as one of the ‘more connected airlines. ‘ Little did they know that everything would collapse in just two months.
“Eight new destinations will join our network this year in addition to the recently announced gateways from Santorini, Greece; Dubrovnik, Croatia; and Osaka, Japan. With these new routes, our operations will expand to 177 destinations around the world, reinforcing our position as one of the most connected airlines in the world. This ensures that we can continue to provide our passengers with more options and flexibility when planning their business and leisure trips. ” -Qatar Airways in January 2020
Of course, by March, his list of destinations had been drastically contracted with the sudden closing of borders around the world.
Since the pandemic began, Qatar Airways says it has flown more than 175 million kilometers and taken home more than 2.3 million passengers on more than 35,000 flights. They have also operated more than 400 charter flights around the world.
Now, with passenger and cargo demand slowly recovering and international travel restrictions relaxed, Qatar Airways continues on its journey to restore its network to its former glory.
A ‘reliable’ winter schedule that passengers can trust
The CEO of the airline emphasizes that passengers will be able to trust the airline not only with its reliable flight schedule, but also with a safe onboard service.
“We are proud to be the global airline that passengers trust to get them where they want to go safely and reliably. This trust begins by offering an honest flight schedule that is realistic for current market conditions and entry restrictions around the world. -His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, Executive Director of the Qatar Airways Group
Al Baker goes on to say that when entry restrictions change and force the airline to postpone or cancel flights, it will support its passengers with “the most flexible and generous options for rescheduling your plans. “
