The New Zealand men’s cricket team will kick off their home-packed international cricket schedule with a three-match Twenty20 international series against the West Indies, starting November 27 at Eden Park.
Following the series between the two sides in the shortest format of the game, New Zealand and the Caribbean side will meet in a two-match test series from December 3-15.
The trial series between the two sides will be part of the inaugural International Cricket Council (ICC) World Trial Championship.
In addition to the West Indies, sports fans will also look forward to the arrival of Pakistan, Australia and Bangladesh in New Zealand for this final summer 2020-21.
New Zealand will face Pakistan in a three-match T20I series starting on December 18 before the two sides meet in two Trials, including a Boxing Day match at Mount Maunganui.
The opening test against Pakistan at Bay Oval will be the eighth Test of Boxing Day in New Zealand and the first since New Zealand defeated Sri Lanka at Hagley Oval in 2018.
Australia is more likely to arrive in New Zealand for a five-match T20I series in February before Black Caps play a three-match ODI series and the same number of T20Is against Bangladesh, starting in Dunedin on March 21.
Although New Zealand’s series against Australia and Bangladesh is pending government approval, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) CEO David White expressed his confidence in receiving the green light in due course.
“Organizing these tours is incredibly important to us for two reasons: international cricket generates revenue that funds the entire game of cricket in New Zealand and furthermore, it is crucial that we take care of fans of the game and the sport in general, especially during these hard times, “White said on the official NZC website.
It should be noted that New Zealand is currently in fourth place in the ICC Test Match Championship table and the Black Caps will surely be looking to perform strongly in each series to improve their chances of qualifying for the final. scheduled for June 2020.
