I suppose you’ve heard that Microsoft acquired Bethesda and its parent company ZeniMax, along with some massive franchises like Doom, Fallout, and The Elder Scrolls for $ 7.5 billion. Now, the companies offered a reminder that their own games will be available on launch day through Game Pass.
Bethesda’s ad quotes Starfield in particular: “Microsoft will grow from 15 to 23 creative studio teams and add iconic Bethesda franchises to Xbox Game Pass. This includes Microsoft’s intention to bring future Bethesda games to Xbox Game Pass the same day they are released on Xbox or PC, such as Starfield, the long-awaited new space epic that Bethesda Game Studios is currently developing. “
Following the announcement, a roundtable interview was held in which Todd Howard of Bethesda Game Studios said that some people at Microsoft have seen Starfield but don’t expect it to be released anytime soon. Also said you want to wait “as long as possible” to show your games.
About Elder Scrolls 6, Howard said it’s “Still a long way”, and will also come to Game Pass. Doom Eternal is coming to Xbox Game Pass on October 1 for both PC and Xbox One. Any sequels or franchises of Bethesda games are also coming to Game Pass.
Bethesda announced both Starfield and The Elder Scrolls VI during the E3 2018 presentation, and so far, we haven’t heard any updates on them. Now, the games are in the hands of Microsoft and it is expected that soon we will hear much more about the game. Two Bethesda games that might not make it to Xbox Game Pass are Deathloop and Ghostwire: Tokyo because they were both announced as PS5 exclusives prior to Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda.
