With the long-awaited iPhone 12 reveal in mid-October fast approaching, we’ve been able to build a pretty detailed picture of what to expect from Apple’s upcoming flagship phones, including a hint we got on an iPhone 12 Mini model a few days ago. does.
We now have a second whistleblower suggesting that the Mini name will make its way to the iPhone lineup, via an image of posted case stickers. On twitter by user DuanRui (and embedded below). You can see that the smaller 5.4-inch case mentions the name Mini.
None of these iPhone 12 Mini leaks come from particularly well-known sources, so don’t take that for granted just yet, but this is a rumor that is starting to gain a bit of momentum as the official launch gets closer and closer.
What makes it a bit more plausible is that Apple already has an iPad Mini, and indeed a Mac Mini, so it wouldn’t be the first time the name has been used. It could also help users distinguish between the four iPhone 12 models that we think we’ll see next month.

Based on everything we’ve heard so far, in addition to the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 (Mini?), We also anticipate two 6.1-inch models: the iPhone 12 Max and the iPhone 12 Pro. If the Mini rumor is true, that Max’s model could simply be called iPhone 12.
One of the differences between the two 6.1-inch models will be the camera setup, with the Pro model sporting better optics and a LiDAR sensor for improved depth detection and augmented reality apps (like the iPad Pros). It can also have a top screen.
The high-end iPhone 12 would then be the 6.7-inch iPhone Pro Max, which would be the largest and most capable of the four models. However, they are all expected to run the same A14 Bionic chipset, as seen in the new iPad Air, so performance should be similar across the board.
It’s all a bit confusing, especially when the iPhone SE (2020) is also taken into account, but we’ll explain everything in full when Apple makes these phones official. We’re not sure when that will be yet, but October 13 seems like a good bet.
