One of the biggest games of 2020, Doom Eternal, will be available on Xbox Game Pass starting October 1.
This will be the first game published by Bethesda to appear on the subscription service since Microsoft’s acquisition of ZeniMax. Microsoft acquired ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda Softworks, through a $ 7.5 billion deal. With this deal, Microsoft acquired several studios, including Bethesda Game Studios and id Software.
Despite the acquisition, Bethesda will apparently run somewhat independent of Xbox, according to Xbox boss Phil Spencer.
Doom Eternal is many things – it’s frantic, fast-paced, and often heartwarming. But one thing Doom Eternal is not boring. There’s always something to do in Doom Eternal, whether it’s progressing through the fantastic main campaign or revisiting previous levels in higher difficulty modes for additional challenges. Doom Eternal is a fantastic continuation of 2016’s seminal Doom, and when it comes down to it, Doom Eternal might be the perfect idea of what a sequel should be.
