Bawada Audi, a 50-year-old man has been detained by the Bauchi State Police Command for killing his newborn grandson in Rimin, Zayam Toro LGA.
DSP Ahmed Wakili confirmed the gruesome incident by saying that Bawada’s daughter Hafsat welcomed a baby, stole it and buried it alive behind her house.

The statement read;
“On 09/16/2020, at approximately 1000 hours, a joint operation between the police and human rights brought a 17-year-old Hafsat Bawada ‘f’ from Rimin Zayam Toro LGA Bauchi to the Toro Division Headquarters who allegedly gave birth to a male child on 09/14/2020 around 0200 hours his father Bawada Audu ‘m’ 50 years old from the same address seized the child and buried the baby behind his house.
Immediately after receiving the report, the innocent baby was exhumed and sent to the hospital where the doctors declared him dead.

The PPRO said;
Also, Hafsat noted that a Danjuma Malam Uba ‘m’ from the same direction had had carnal knowledge of her sometime in early 2020 now generally. The body was handed over to the Rimin Ziyam village chief for burial, while the suspect was arrested and confessed to the crime. ”
