Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) said Monday that it will add the voice of Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan to his voice assistant Alexa.

What happened: The new voice feature, available to customers in India, will launch next year, according to the retail giant’s blog.

The company run by Jeff Bezos said Alexa deals are available on Bachchan’s pranks, weather, dating and advice.

Alexa can be used on various Amazon devices, such as the Echo and Fire TV Stick with the Alexa Voice Remote, the company said.

Because it is important: The 77-year-old Bachchan has played a leading role in the Bollywood film industry for more than five decades, and his baritone voice is familiar to Indians for several generations.

He has also appeared in advertisements for PepsiCo, Inc. (NASDAQ: PEP) and Mondelez International Inc. (NASDAQ: MDLZ) subsidiary Cadbury Ltd.

Last year, Amazon released the voice of Samuel L. Jackson for its voice assistant. Additionally, the company also introduced a feature in which voice actors narrate the works of Mark Twain, Shakespeare, as well as proverbs and fables.

Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ: GOOGL) (NASDAQ: GOOG) Google has also unveiled the voice of singer John Legend for his voice assistant.

The Mountain View, California-based tech giant’s Google Assistant is also available voiced by actress Issa Rae.

Price action: Amazon shares closed nearly 0.4% lower at $ 3,102.97 on Monday and gained nearly 0.2% in the after-hours session.
