Nintendo is taking Mario’s 35th anniversary very seriously.

In addition to announcing a new online battle game for 35 players, Super Mario 3d All-Starsand Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s FuryNintendo is also adding in-game celebrations of everyone’s favorite mushroom-confused plumber to Animal Crossing New Horizons and Splatoon 2.

But the fun doesn’t end there: Nintendo has also published a couple of new sites dedicated to the original Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. game: The Lost Levels.

The sites have been launched to pay tribute to the original release of the first Super Mario Bros. game, which came out 35 years ago today (September 13).

Each site introduces players to the game, the characters in their respective title, and also gives you an overview of the elements and enemies in the game.

As if that wasn’t enough, the site also allows players to download PDF versions of the original manuals for each title.

The sites have sprung up before you can get back to classic games with the release of Super Mario Bros. Game & Watch, available November 13.

If you want to play the games today to really have that anniversary mood, you can play through both through the NES / SNES service of Nintendo Switch Online.

Sometimes we include links to online retail stores. If you click on one and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission. For more information, click here.
