(Pocket-lint): Huawei hosted its annual developer conference this week and there were many key releases; here we have gathered the most important ones for you.

EMUI 11

In its keynote on software, Huawei introduced EMUI 11, its latest Android-based smartphone software. Wang Chenglu, Chairman of the Software Department of Huawei Consumer Business Group, outlined the key features of the new operating system, including the new user experience built with research from Huawei’s Human Factors Engineering Research Laboratory, plus additional features from Privacy & Security.

EMUI 11 features a new always-on display that is fully customizable, as well as updated animations and haptic feedback vibrations. There are also new multitasking options – smart multi-window modes allow you to have resizable and floating application windows on your screen. Other improvements include a new version of Huawei Share and protection of personal data.

Huawei announced a beta program for EMUI 11: Eligible devices include the Huawei P40 series and the Mate 30 series.

HMS Ecosystem

Also a great topic during keynotes, AppGallery is welcoming many more big name apps, including brands like TomTom, Bolt, Emirates, Sberbank, and Kumu.

More than 1.8 million developers are now part of the Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) ecosystem globally, while more than 96,000 applications have been integrated with HMS Core so far.

AppGallery’s great ongoing focus revolves around a global + local approach, serving the diverse needs of users in different countries and regions. Partners joining the platform also include Bolt, Deezer, Foodpanda, TomTom Go Navigation, Line, Qwant, and Telegram.

Other initiatives to work more closely with partners include the construction of three new global ecosystem cooperation labs and five new global developer service centers.

In the future, Huawei continues to expand developer services: Huawei is building three global ecosystem cooperation laboratories in Russia, Poland and Germany to serve global developers and provide enabling, testing and certification services.

Five global developer service centers will also be established in Romania, Malaysia, Egypt, Mexico and Russia, providing local platforms and services to help developers grow and better innovate.

Audio, smart watches and wearables

Huawei announced six new products that further enrich its 1 + 8 + N ecosystem ‘for all scenarios’. The new products revealed during today’s keynote address span the audio space, portable devices and PCs.

All products are designed to provide a more consistent connected experience for consumers in their everyday lives.

Richard Yu, CEO and CEO of Huawei’s Consumer Business Group, said: “Great user experiences are always built on innovation, but our innovation journey always begins and ends with consumers. Going forward, we will continue to work with our valued partners in delivering more high-quality, smart experiences for consumers around the world. “

In audio, Huawei revealed the true wireless headphones ANC FreeBuds Pro and Huawei FreeLace Pro.

The FreeBuds Pro are new professional variants of highly acclaimed audio products that feature improved Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), a new design, and user-centric features. They are the world’s first truly wireless stereo (TWS) headphones to support intelligent dynamic noise cancellation thanks to a unique combination of hardware and software.

They can intelligently identify the type of ambient noise based on the user’s environment and switch between three profiles: General, Cozy, and Ultimate, to deliver optimal noise-canceling performance.

The FreeLace Pro neckband headphones offer excellent audio and a stylish design while supporting noise cancellation of up to 40 dB like the FreeBuds Pro.

In wearables, the company revealed the Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro and the Huawei Watch Fit with new fitness data tracking features and more than 100 training modes.

The sleek and modern Huawei Watch GT2 Pro smartwatch also offers up to two weeks of battery life and professional fitness data tracking features. New training modes include skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, and driving range.

Watch Fit is Huawei’s first sports smartwatch to feature a rounded rectangular watch face design – a 1.64-inch AMOLED display. The Watch Fit features 24-hour heart monitoring to track changes in blood oxygen, sleep, and stress conditions. All the data is also analyzed to generate fitness tips to help you live a better and healthier life. It also has 96 training modes, built-in GPS, and 5ATM water resistance.

The latest generation Huawei MateBook X and Huawei MateBook 14 are two new lightweight notebooks with compact form factors. They also have the latest Huawei Share feature built in.

The MateBook X with Intel Core Technology combines the iconic design and innovative technology of the flagship series with an improved lightweight design and smart features, plus a 3K Infinite FullView display. Weighing just 1kg, it measures just 13.6mm at its thickest point and is smaller than a sheet of A4 paper.

The MateBook 14 features a selection of AMD Ryzen processors with Huawei’s own Shark Fin fans that deliver superior thermal performance even under heavy workloads. It has a 2K FullView display and a slim and light design.
