Your life is about to turn upside down.
The cast of the ’90s comedy The Fresh Prince of Bel Air has been reunited, with Will Smith posting a happy family photo on Instagram, and it’s giving us all the nostalgia.
Smith, 51, who first appeared on our screens in the beloved sitcom 30 years ago, revealed that they had also filmed a soon-to-be-released television special.
In an instant, Smith joins the OG band that includes Daphne Reed, Alfonso Ribeiro, Karyn Parsons, Tatyana Ali, and Jeffrey Townes (DJ Jazzy Jeff).
“Today is exactly 30 YEARS since @FreshPrince of Bel-Air debuted!” Smith wrote on her Instagram. “So we’re doing something for all of you … a real Banks family reunion is coming to @HBOmax soon!”
The actor also mentioned James Avery, who died at the age of 68 in 2014. He played Uncle Phil.
“RIP James,” he wrote. “# FreshPrince30th”.
Not much is known about the special yet, but it will air in the US on the HBO Max streaming service, which generally indicates that it will launch on Binge in Australia.
The series, which ran between 1990 and 1996 and developed a large following, is also reported to be in talks for a reboot.
Late last year, there were reports that Westbrook Inc, a new media company co-founded by Will and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, was going to manage a potential reboot, however there is no confirmation of that yet.
Smith has been known to reunite with his former co-stars, often causing fans to go wild on social media with photos from the reunions.
During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, he joked that he would have to play the role of Uncle Phil these days, given he’s 50 years old.
Uncle Phil’s original actor Avery passed away in 2014.
