PUBG Mobile, which was recently banned by the Indian government, has made more than $ 3.5 billion in revenue thanks to microtransactions.

The news comes through a report from Sensor Tower. The report indicates that PUBG Mobile hit $ 3 billion at the end of July and made the rest of the $ 500 million in just 72 days. March 2020 was the best month for the game this year, raising $ 270 million.

With a total of $ 1.6 billion earned this year alone, PUBG Mobile is way ahead of the competition. Garena Free Fire is in second place with $ 395 million.

India leads the download table with 185.5 million downloads, or 24% of all downloads. They are followed by China and the US with 16.4% and 6.3% respectively. Despite the huge download size, India only accounts for 1.2% of microtransaction revenue.

PUBG Corp., the South Korean game company that owns PUBG Mobile, has issued a statement regarding the recent ban. PUBG Corp. has revoked Tencent Games publishing rights for PUBG Mobile in India. The company will assume all editorial responsibilities for the country.
