At least that’s our immediate impression after seeing the first trailer for the film, a visually stunning teaser that, like the Oscar-winning French-Canadian filmmaker’s 2017 thriller, combines stunning action scenes and action sequences.

Beyond the visual excitement, the trailer also reminds viewers how stacked the cast is.
In addition to Chalamet, Isaac and Zendaya, there are Rebecca Ferguson (Lady Jessica), Josh Brolin (Gurney Halleck), Dave Bautista (Glossu Rabban), Jason Momoa (Duncan Idaho), Javier Bardem (Stilgar), Stephen McKinley Henderson (Thufir Hawat) ), Charlotte Rampling (Gaius Helen Mohiam), David Dastmalchian (Piter De Vries) and Sharon Duncan-Brewster (Liet-Kynes).
Almost the entire ensemble joined Villeneuve last month for a sneak peek at the trailer and a lengthy virtual chat hosted by late-night host and proud celebrity fan Stephen Colbert, attended by Yahoo Entertainment.
Villeneuve highly praised his 24-year-old star, describing how Chalamet “looks so young on camera” but “has an old soul.”
However, much of the conversation centered on the spectacle that master craftsman Villeneuve has brought to Herbert’s much-loved mythology.
“It’s operatic,” Isaac said. “It is pure cinema.”
