It’s been almost a year since we last experienced the awesomeness of the role play that was Obsidian entertainmentit is The outer worlds, and moving forward 11 months, the first DLC has finally arrived. While it may take some getting used to going back to the world of the future, The Outer Worlds: Danger on Gorgon it’s definitely a meaty addition that brings more of the same, great flavor to the sci-fi RPG.
It lasts about eight hours or so, Danger on Gorgon it has to do with the intrigue of a detective story. The mystery of a severed human arm will lead players down corporate burrows as you discover more about Spacer’s Choice.
The ubiquitous megacorporation was always present in the main game, and it’s no different in Danger on Gorgon. Unsurprisingly, things are never that clean when it comes to a giant corporation, profits, and pharmaceutical research.
Thankfully, Danger on Gorgon it doesn’t keep you confined to one place. As in the main game, players will travel to different locations in the Hyperion system. While you’ll be spending more time at the Gorgon Asteroid Base, the DLC also takes you to places like the spooky Ambrose Manor, a super exclusive Byzantium club, and more.
As the players progress further Danger on Gorgon, the more the mystery unfolds. Unfortunately, if you’re looking to stretch those research muscles, there’s little room for that. Similar to a linear story, each mission leads to another, filling in the gaps as you complete objective after objective.
It is in no way a detriment to the experience, but more of the same that came before. The story of Danger on Gorgon it’s still fitting, with the spice added by its cast of characters. Of course, an investigation-focused plot has its fair share of private eye fun.

For those of you looking to know it all, you can bury your nose in the many records and messages found throughout. Danger on Gorgon. There is a lot of world-building going on through these pieces of literature, but many players are likely to miss out on all the corporate actus reus.
You can at least get more of that storytelling through the setting, as the attention to detail Obsidian has put into the places and situations players would encounter does a great job of telling their own story. The sheer number of drugs you’ll find is staggering, but just like the way the developers handled the rest of the world, it fits the bill perfectly. Exploration is still so rewarding in Danger on Gorgon like the original.
For most of the action, Danger on Gorgon still dependent on tried and tested combat that was good enough at The outer worlds Aside from some unique new weapons being added to the mix, the action remains largely intact. The same goes for the enemies you will face.
There are a limited number of marauders, test subjects, and pirates you can fight without feeling like they all come from the same den of evil. There are also robotic and more primal enemies to deal with, so that’s still a nice change.
With the main mission and several side missions to overcome, Danger on Gorgon it keeps the same black humor from the base game, which is great. However, since the DLC touches on more serious moral issues, it can be difficult to reconcile the two different positions. Dark comedy doesn’t necessarily cope well with hard-hitting facts, but knowing the seriousness of the situation can help you make decisions.

All in all, Danger on Gorgon is a nice addition to The outer worlds. There are more tales to enjoy, visits to different places and more of the proper combat that is not to everyone’s liking. While it’s not changing things drastically in terms of game design, there’s enough here to keep you coming back until the mystery is solved.
The Outer Worlds: Peril on Gorgon is available now on the Epic Games Store for $ 14.99.
