Following in the footsteps of Allan and James Rodríguez, the French midfielder has signed a three-year contract at Goodison Park.
Everton have confirmed Abdoulaye Doucoure as their latest summer signing, bringing the French midfielder to Goodison Park from Watford in a deal that is reportedly worth £ 20 million plus add-ons.
The 27-year-old Doucoure spent four years at Vicarage Road before the Hornets’ relegation from the Premier League in 2019-20.
But he’s ready to continue his career in the English top flight after signing a three-year deal to join Carlo Ancelotti’s team, which has already been bolstered by the sacks of Napoli midfielder Allan and Real Madrid star James. Rodriguez this week.

“Abdoulaye Doucoure has completed a transfer to Everton from Watford for an undisclosed fee, signing a three-year contract until the end of June 2023 with a Club option for a fourth season,” Everton announced in a statement posted on the site. Club official website on Tuesday.
“The 27-year-old French midfielder becomes the Blues’ third major signing in four days after the arrival of Brazilian international Allan and Colombian playmaker James Rodriguez, both 29.”
The midfielder made four goals in 39 appearances for Watford last season, having scored 17 goals in 141 games during his time at the club.
Before moving to Watford, Doucoure played primarily for Rennes in France while also enjoying a loan period in Granada.
“I’ve been waiting a long time to come here and now it has happened, so I’m very happy,” explained Doucoure upon signing for the Toffees.
“I had some interest in other clubs, but from the beginning, when Everton showed interest in me, I told my agent to focus on Everton.
“It was the only club I wanted to join.
“Everton have a great history in English football and it is a good club for me to take a step forward in my career.
“I am very happy now to be an Everton player and very excited for the future. I can bring my energy, I am a powerful player, I can run a lot, the whole game.
“I can also score goals. I will do my best to score goals and help the team.
“It is an ambitious project here and it was a big part of my decision, having [Director of Football] Marcel [Brands] and coach Carlo Ancelotti who loves me.
“When you come to a club you want the coach and, of course, the board to support you.
“It was the case with Everton and I really wanted to come here.”
