This year’s iPhone 12 launch was slated to be done in stages, with supply line constraints leading to a two-tier release date situation for Apple. The news comes from rumors from insider manufacturers claiming the shipping time for substrate-like printed circuit boards for each new iPhone model. Rumors persist about the iPhone in four models, with three different screen sizes.
Word from Digitimes suggested that the two stages of the iPhone 12 launch will start with the standard and Pro models, then move to the smaller screen and larger screen models. That would mean we will see the iPhone 12 (with 6.1-inch screen) and iPhone 12 Pro (also with 6.1-inch screen) in the first wave, followed by the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 and 6.7-inch iPhone 12. Pro on a second release date.
The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro are still expected to launch within the year 2020. We would normally see a reveal in early September, then a release date in late September or early October. In the year 2019, iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro were revealed on September 10, 2020.
