Dirt 5 has been delayed, again, three weeks. Instead of arriving on October 16, the next chapter of the Dirt Racing franchise will now launch on November 6 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. This is the second delay for Dirt 5, after being pushed a week, the last time. In total, Dirt 5 has been delayed for a month. As before, early access starts three days earlier, on November 3. Dirt 5 is still maintaining its unspecified 2020 release date for the next-gen PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles, added developer Codemasters.
Codemasters has had a long history with the Dirt label, dating back to 2007 in the era of PS3 and Xbox 360, when it was called Colin McRae: Dirt. Since then, he’s given us four main entrances (naturally), plus a couple of spin-offs: two more realistic exits in Dirt Rally, and one more arcade in Dirt: Showdown. Dirt 5 is important for next-gen consoles as it is one of the only racing games at launch, with Microsoft (Forza) and Sony (Gran Turismo) exclusives currently in development, and without a release date of its own. .

“The release date for Dirt 5 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC has been moved to November 6, 2020, with early access for Amplified Edition players starting on November 3,” Codemasters said in its announcement. The game will still launch on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 later this year, followed by Google Stadia in 2021.
