Ansu Fati becomes Spain’s youngest scorer in Ukraine’s Nations League win

Barcelona forward Ansu Fati became the youngest player to score an international goal for Spain when La Roja thrashed Ukraine 4-0 in a one-sided UEFA Nations League clash in Madrid on Sunday night.

The 17-year-old won a penalty after two minutes after a spectacular run down the left and captain Sergio Ramos converted from the penalty spot.

Ramos then added another to bring his Spain tally to 23 as he headed home from a free kick in the 29th minute and Fati, in his full debut with La Roja, opened his account in spectacular fashion shortly after.


Fati controlled the ball at the edge of the area and launched an unstoppable shot from the post to become Spain’s youngest scorer at the age of 17 years and 311 days.

Before his goal, Fati had also approached with a run and a shot from the left wing and the teenager finished the game in the role of center forward while coach Luis Enrique made the changes sound in the second half.
