Apple is reportedly planning a press release for Tuesday to announce new iPad and Apple Watch models, according to prolific leaker Jon Prosser.
Prosser explains that Apple has a press release scheduled for Tuesday, September 8 at 9:00 EST, but notes that it is not “locked” until the same day. Prosser has also said that it will offer an update whenever one is available.
Prosser has previously said that the new Apple Watch and iPad models would arrive via a press release in the week of September 7. This alleged press release on Tuesday would appear to be for those products.
Although the new Apple Watch models would likely be the expected Series 6, Prosser did not say which of the iPad would arrive. In recent months there has been some confusion about the leaks regarding the low-cost iPad and the iPad Air 4. It has also been suggested that the updated iPad Pro models may arrive this month, so it is difficult to know exactly which models of IPad are expected.
Apple’s press release is scheduled for Tuesday (September 8) at 9:00 am EST; however, I must point out that it is not blocked until the press has been informed on the day of. I’ll tweet early that morning to update you if it changes. – Jon Prosser (@jon_prosser) September 6, 2020
The launch of several Apple products appears to be imminent. At the end of last month, Apple registered eight Apple watches and seven iPads in Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) filings, and various leaks, such as a supposed instruction manual and design schematics, have come to light. Similar introductions from the EEC have preceded the launch of new Apple products on numerous occasions, including various models of iPad, iPad ProP, iPhone, Mac, Apple Watch and AirPods.
The EEC filings effectively confirm that new Apple watches and at least two different iPad models will be released very soon, so Prosser’s claim that a press release on Tuesday will see announcements for these products is not unfounded. Prosser has also correctly predicted some of Apple’s launch plans in the past.
