Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine
Ukraine has expressed its willingness to help Belarus overcome the political crisis that gripped the country after the presidential elections on August 9 and the start of protests in relation to their results. This position was expressed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, during an informal meeting of the UN Security Council, dedicated to the situation of human rights in Belarus.
“Ukraine stands ready to help Belarus overcome the current crisis without weakening its sovereignty and independence,” Kuleba said.
He noted that the stable and democratic development of Belarus is of key importance not only for the citizens of Belarus, but also for Ukraine and Europe as a whole.
Kuleba also emphasized once again that Ukraine has never interfered and will not interfere in the internal affairs of Belarus.
“I hope that all countries, first of all, this concerns the Russian Federation, will follow the same position and refrain from any action, including military intervention, that may further destabilize the situation in Belarus,” added the Minister of External relationships.
