ETHIOPIA. Ethiopian Airlines Group has completed a new passenger terminal at Addis Ababa’s Bole International Airport.
Tewolde GebreMariam: The new terminal was designed, not reused, with biosafety and biosecurity in mind
With an emphasis on biosecurity and biosecurity, the terminal facilities include 60 check-in counters and an increased number of electronic immigration gates.
Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Tewolde GebreMariam said: “I am very pleased to witness the completion of a new terminal at our hub.
“While Addis Ababa Bole International Airport overtook Dubai to become the largest gateway to Africa last year, the new terminal will play a key role in consolidating that position.”
GebreMariam noted that the terminal is the first in the world to be completed since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It was designed, not reused, with biosecurity and biosecurity in mind. I am sure our esteemed customers will greatly appreciate it. “
The expansion of aviation infrastructure is one of the pillars of the Ethiopian Airlines Vision 2025. The company said the new terminal plays a key role in the safety of passengers and employees as the airport experience becomes contactless.
